About

Berean Bible

“Now the Bereans were more noble-minded than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if these teachings were true.”

Acts 17 · 11

The Berean Standard Bible

The Berean Standard Bible is a modern English translation produced by an international committee of evangelical scholars in cooperation with Bible Hub, Discovery Bible, and OpenBible.com. On April 30, 2023, the BSB was dedicated to the public domain under Creative Commons Zero. Anyone may read, copy, distribute, modify, or build upon it without permission or attribution.

This site uses the third printing of the BSB, served exactly as published, including the original footnote apparatus.

Study Apparatus

Tap any word in Study Mode to see the original Greek or Hebrew, transliteration, parsing, and a brief gloss. The lexicon is the Tyndale Brief Lexicon of Extended Strong's (Hebrew via BDB, Greek via Abbott-Smith), made available by STEPBible under CC BY 4.0.

The manuscript-variant footnotes are the BSB's own, cataloguing where the Masoretic Text, Septuagint, Vulgate, Syriac, Targums, or the major Greek critical editions disagree. They appear inline as a small ‘&Dcross;’ you can tap.

Cross-references are drawn from OpenBible.info (CC-BY 4.0), themselves derived primarily from the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge.

Audio

The chapter audio is the BSB Audio Bible (Bob Souer, Barry Hays, Jordan Gilbert), produced in cooperation with the Berean Bible Translation Committee and dedicated to the public domain (CC0). It is served from our own storage so the chapters load cleanly and stay available even when other hosts change.

Posture

No ads. No accounts. No tracking. Your bookmarks, notes, and highlights live in your browser, not on our servers. The whole site is open source under the MIT License.

Scripture is the supreme authority. Our apparatus exists to point you back to the text, never to stand above it.
